Picture : "Luangta" The Venerable Luangta Maha Bua
Background and various activities
12th August 1994…
was an auspicious day for the Thai as it was the day to celebrate the birthday of Her Majesty the Queen and Phra Rachayanwisuddhisophon ("Luangta" Maha Bua Yanasampanno) of Wat Pa Baan Taad, Udonthani.
On that day, "Luangta" had kindly accepted the offering of the land of 100 Rai odd, about 37 km. from Kanchanaburi town, along Kanchanaburi–Saiyok–hongphaphum Road, km. 21, 2 km. into side-street,at Mu 5, Baan Phumaidaeng, Sing Sub-district, Saiyok District, Kanchanaburi Province. A forest monastery would be built on the land as a place of Dhamma practice, following the path of Venerable Acharn Mun (Luangpu Mun Phuridatto).
Khun Duangjai Srithong donated the land out of faith after listening to the sermon on the tape given by "Luangta" at Wat Pa Baan Taad. A part of the sermon was that “nowadays wherever we go, we find defilement only, can’t find a place to build a monastery”. Thus, Khun Duangjai discussed with her mother, Khun Mae Samli, who was practicing Dhamma at Wat Pa Baan Taad with her then. Her mother agreed that it would be a benefit for the further maintaining of Buddhism. Later, additional offering had been made to be the area of 234 Rai odd in the walled estate of 2.256 square meters. Up to now, the Monastery has bought additional land. Presently its total area is 688 Rai. Subsequently, "Luangta" ordered Phra Acharn Phusit (Chan) Khantitharo to see whether the place is proper for building a monastery or not.

The information at site:
To speed up the construction of Tiger Island (part of the ‘New Home for Tigers’ Project) and due to the higher costs of construction and daily expenditures, starting Sep.1,2005 the donation for entrance fee will be increased to 300 Baht for each visitor.
The necessary expenditures are tiger-food & other animal food, vet fees, upkeep; and 100 Baht from this amount will go towards the construction cost for the 'New-Home for Tigers' Project so that this construction can be completed as soon as possible , enabling us to rehome the tigers in a more natural forest environment in the temple grounds. This new island-like home will also be used to train future generations of cubs to be released back into the wild, where they belong.
At any day, there may be deficit, surely it is a must to be topped up by the kindness of Abbot-Pra Acharn Chan (which are from his disciples' contributions).
